In the Wake of Hokusai is a solo exhibition by SAC Resident Artist Tina Curtis following on from the OTTO Collective group exhibition Thirty-Six Views of the Mountain in the Sidespace Gallery in August 2018.  It is about our relationship to the mountain (in Hobart) inspired by Japanese painter and printmaker Hokusai and his Thirty-Six Views of Mt. Fuji.

“What would Hokusai think if he came to Hobart? I am sure he would be captivated by our Mountain. Seasonal, wild and timeless – qualities that our busy existence lacks. Perhaps that it why it perpetually delights us. The Mountain’s omnipresence in the life of Hobartians is the common thread of the works in this exhibition.”
– Tina Curtis

The exhibition includes coloured woodcut prints and blocks together with drawings, photos, sketches, notes and watercolour preparations for the woodcuts.
