Members of AJS-TAS have been invited to take part in a private guided tour of Parliament House in Hobart. This is an opportunity for us to learn more about the Parliament of Tasmania.
The tour will explain the role of the Parliament in a democracy. It will cover contemporary parliamentary practices, including the process of passing legislation, the process of examining government policies and the wider work of the Members of Parliament. The tour will visit four of the main rooms in Parliament House, including the House of Assembly Chamber and the Legislative Council Chamber. It will also cover some of the history of this fine Georgian-style building.
Please allow 90 minutes for the tour. There is no cost, but participation is restricted to current financial members of AJS-TAS. Registrations will close 24 hours prior to the event i.e. at 2.30pm on Thursday 10 July 2019.
