Celebrate the publication of the third Writers in Kyoto Anthology and the Australia-Japan friendships it represents. Professor Jann Williams, lead-editor and designer of the Anthology, and Corinne Costello who created two striking sumi-e images for the book, will be present. Both are well known Tasmanians with strong connections to Japan.
The anthology contains diverse prose, poetry and imagery from 23 authors and 4 illustrators. From gardens to gangsters, temples to tourism, ceramics to Casablanca, new authors are found alongside existing authors known for their insights into Japan. All find inspiration from the muse of Kyoto, a city of many dimensions.
The anthology will be launched by Dr Heidi Auman - author, biologist, taiko player.
4-5pm: Formal program 5-5.30pm: Discussion + Anthology viewing over drinks & light food
Please RSVP to Jann Williams by September 18th for catering purposes.
