Dinner and Propaganda
The Australia-Japan Society of Tasmania Inc is proud to host Jan Ochi from Wafu Works for a delicious dinner Izakaya style and a fascinating look into the Japanese wartime propaganda textiles and what people were wearing on the home front as the war progressed. She will also talk about senninbari amulets and imon ningyo comfort dolls that were made to send to soldiers.
Come and joins us at Bar Wa for an enjoyable night on Saturday 19 September 2020 at 6pm. Only $30 for members and $35 for non-members. Drinks can be purchased on the night.

Edamame - Japanese soy beans sprinkled with a sakura smoked sea salt.
Free Range Chicken Karaage - Dusted with aonori and sesame seeds, served with charred lemon and QP mayo.
House Made Pork Gyoza -Served with soy, rice wine dipping sauce and chilli oil.
Kipfler Potato Wedges - With a sakura smoked salt and red miso and black garlic Aioli.
Bar Wa-Fu Salad – fresh seasonal ingedients with our house made dressing plus nori.
Japanese Potato Salad -Bintje potatoes smashed with lightly seasoned QP mayo and vegetables.
Tempura Mushrooms swiss brown mushrooms served with tsuyuu dipping sauce, QP Mayo
Pan Fried Broccolini & Beans - seared in sesame oil and finished shichimi, soy and sesame seeds
Shiro Miso Braised Mushrooms—Mixture of mushrooms braised in a white miso, soy and butter finished with sansho pepper.
