Hanami gathering at Deloraine

Let's gather in Deloraine and enjoy お花見 (cherry blossom viewing) together.

This will be a joint event with the Japan Club Tasmania, and will bring together members of the Japanese community from all around the State. Friends, family and anyone with an interest in Japan are welcome to join us.

We will spend a relaxing afternoon enjoying a picnic beneath the cherry trees. Please bring your own food and drink, plus something to share.

There will also be the opportunity to try 墨絵 (ink painting). Learn this ancient Japanese art and try painting the cherry blossom yourself!

This gathering will take place at Deloraine Riverbank Reserve, which you can find here: https://goo.gl/maps/Fw47Lp4yYygXpCU16 You will need to organise your own transport to and from Deloraine.

NOTE: If bad weather is forecast, we may make a late decision to postpone the event. Any such decision will be made at least 24 hours in advance and will be communicated to everyone who is registered.
