Hanami gathering at Deloraine

Let's gather in Deloraine and enjoy お花見 (cherry blossom viewing) together.

This will be a FREE joint event with the Japan Club Tasmania, and will bring together members of the Japanese community from all around the State. Friends, family and anyone with an interest in Japan are welcome to join us.

We will spend a relaxing afternoon enjoying a picnic beneath the cherry trees. Please bring your own food and drink, plus something to share.

There will also be the opportunity to try 墨絵 (ink painting) with Lisa Sensei who teaches at Hagley Farm School. Learn this ancient Japanese art and try painting the cherry blossom yourself! There will be two sessions, beginning at 10.30am and 2pm. 

This gathering will take place on the southern side of the Deloraine Riverbank Reserve, at the start of the Highland Lakes Road. The location can be found on Google Maps here: https://goo.gl/maps/FXqawMpFtCcRJuZi9

You will need to organise your own transport to and from Deloraine.

NOTE: If bad weather is forecast, we may make a late decision to postpone the event. Any such decision will be made at least 24 hours in advance and will be communicated to everyone who is registered.
